This silver bar has been produced by the Johnson Matthey refinery, a group still universally renowned for their quality products 200 years after their establishment. The estimated mintage of these bars is less than 1,000.
 
Struck in 999 silver fineness, the bars contain just over 16 troy ounces of pure silver. Each bar features a unique serial number for authentication.
 
This bar is issued with the presentation box.
 
The obverse of the bar shows the Johnson Matthey logo, as well as the bar fineness, weight and unique serial number.

Johnson Matthey can trace its roots back to 1817, when P.N. Johnson set up business as a gold assayer in London. In 1852, the company was appointed official assayer and refiner to the Bank of England.
 
The firm is no longer involved in precious metals refining, having sold that arm of the business in 2015, and now focuses on chemicals and  technologies.
